We will meet at the Paul T. Given Country Park in Smithtown ( it is across from “the Bull” on rte 25) at 9:45 a.m. Our cars will be parked there and we will be driven up to Nissequogue State Park where we will launch. The Nissequogue is a tidal river and we will travel with the incoming tide to the end of the river, which is at Paul Givens Park.
A day on the river is so beautiful and serene. The wildlife and plant life are incredible. Every year there is something new to see and experience. The trip will take about 2-3 hr and we stop for lunch along the river. Please dress appropriately and bring water and food. If you already have a canoe or kayakyou can meet us at Nissequogue State Park at 10 a.m. There is a parking fee, but no charge to launch. If you are renting: 2 person kayak or canoe is $60; 1 person kayak is $50. You can fit up to 4 people in a canoe.
